A number of external websites have developed timelines of climate change events containing significant detail. Links to those sites are below for your reference.

  • Nature Reports - International Climate Policy
    This site contains an easy to use timeline of international climate change policy starting in 1972. Detailed information on each event is available, but the page starts out as a list of events that is easy to read "at a glance".
  • Frontline - Timeline: The Road To Climate Change Policy
    Frontline is American public television's flagship public affairs series. This timeline is part of "Carbon Watch: Tracking the New Currencies of Global Warming", which is a joint project between Frontline Global and the Center for Investigative Reporting. In addition to a graphical timeline, this page contains a number of links to other sources for climate change information.
  • Encyclopedia of Earth Climate Change Timeline
    This timeline starts with an entry for 1800-1870, and continues to the present. It chronicles climate change effects on the planet, as well as policy events, such as the release of IPCC assessment reports.
