Mitigation Information

  • For information on the US's Climate Competiveness Index, click here. You will need to select the US from that page, since it is not possible to link directly to a country's information.
  • An EarthTrends country profile on Climate and Atmosphere for the US is available here.
  • The most recent US national communication on the steps taken to implement the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change contains a huge amount of information on both adaptation and mitigation in the United States; it also includes a summary of greenhouse gas emissions. Much additional information is available on the UNFCC site; some relevant information is described in the UNFCC overview on the COMPON website.
  • America's Climate Choices, a cooperative project of the US's national research academies, has published a report titled, "a href="http://www.nap.edu/catalog.php?record_id=13330" target="_blank">A Review of the U.S. Global Change Research Program's Strategic Plan".
